For its second exhibition, the Amsterdam Art Gallery @ Capital C has invited private art collectors to reflect on creativity in Amsterdam through their personal art collections. Prepare to be blown away by an eclectic mix of artworks that have a special relationship with the city, including video works, paintings and sculptures.
Amsterdam Art is proud to announce the following private collections that will be part of the exhibition: the collection of Martijn and Jeannette Sanders, the collection of Willem Sijthoff, the collection of Casper van der Kruk, THE EKARD COLLECTION, ‘the Finest Amsterdam Contemporary Art Collection ever …’, and the collection of Emma van der Minne as a special representative from the Young Collector’s Circle.
The artworks on display have been personally selected by the participating collectors to reflect their own positions within the contemporary art world. By supporting local artists, galleries and institutions, these collectors are helping Amsterdam’s contemporary art scene to excel at an international level.
On the opening day, a short documentary following the collectors and their personal background stories will be released. Amsterdam: Collected demonstrates the joy of collecting. Through this exhibition, Amsterdam Art hopes to inspire visitors of Amsterdam Art Weekend to start creating their own stories by collecting, supporting the art world in a personal way.
